Description: This course will provide a general overview of modeling approaches for studying a variety of ecological and environmental problems. It will provide students with a toolbox of techniques, and discuss how they can be used to address questions and generate testable predictions. The course will emphasize modeling individual behavior and population dynamics. Previously offered as ZOOL 5633. Description: Ecological niche modeling theory and practice. Generation of niche models and distribution predictions to address questions on species' ecology, conservation, biogeography, and phylogeography. Familiarization with ESRI ArcGIS software, as well as environmental GIS data sources. Previously offered as ZOOL 5643.
