GEOG 6313 Mixed Methods in Field Research Prerequisites: Graduate standing in geography or consent of instructor. Description: This course will expose students to a variety of qualitative and quantitative techniques useful in successfully designing and completing field research. Special focus will include research and survey design, interviewing, ethnography, and visual techniques such as the use of imagery, photography, sketch mapping, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for the collection and analysis of geospatial data. Description: Provides in-depth theoretical exploration of advanced remote sensing and image analysis techniques. Special topics include advanced classifications, hyperspectral imagery, and LiDAR. Specific issues surrounding data capture, image processing, and analysis will be discussed to prepare students for semester-long research projects.
